Diane Franklin is a versatile actress known for her roles in iconic 1980s films and TV series. She began her career with TV commercials and a debut in As the World Turns (1979) at 17. Franklin's breakthrough came in 1982 with The Last American Virgin and Amityville II: The Possession. She went on to star in Second Time Lucky (1984), Better Off Dead (1985), and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), among others.
In addition to her film career, Franklin appeared in television series such as Bay City Blues, Matlock, and Family Law, and portrayed Jock Ewing’s first wife in Dallas: The Early Years (1986).
A published author, Franklin released her memoir The Excellent Adventures of the Last American, French Exchange Babe of the 80s in 2012, followed by a second in 2017.
She returned to the Amityville franchise in 2018 with The Amityville Murders, and in 2021, starred in Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman. More recently, she appeared in the 2023 horror films Waking Nightmare and Pareidolia.
